Industrial inspection camera

Since its inception at the start of the new millennium, Medigus has honed its expertise in the field of highly innovative endoscopic and imaging solutions for specialized applications in the medical and industrial fields. During this time the company created some of the most advanced industrial inspection equipment on the planet. The company's range of micro video cameras, both CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) and CCD (charge-coupled device), can be utilized for industrial and medical applications, and customized to clients' exacting standards.

The Industrial Inspection Camera Has Never Been Smaller

One of the firm's proudest achievements was creating the smallest CMOS camera in the world – the micro ScoutCam 1.2. This small inspection camera can generate stunning image quality thanks to five optic elements, and a sensor resolution of almost 50,000 pixels. Potential industrial applications include remote non-destructive testing, micro drilling inspection, cavities inspection, robotic tooling and tube inspection. Including optics, the micro inspection camera is 5mm in length (default) with a working distance of 2mm to 10mm.

Catering to the Giants of Industry

Being at the forefront of direct visualization technology, it should come as no surprise that Medigus can name NASA as one of its clients. In 2011, NASA began an experiment on the International Space Station as part of its Robotic Refueling Mission, which demonstrates tools and techniques for servicing of on-orbit satellites. The company's specially-designed industrial inspection camera and advanced video processing equipment was used in NASA's Visual Inspection Poseable Invertebrate Robot (VIPIR) tool, and just recently a new order was placed for implementation on the next generation of the inspection tool.

A New Cost-Effective Camera Joins the Portfolio

Medigus announced that the firm's camera portfolio was being expanded with the introduction of themicro Scoutcam 3.45. The CMOS video camera is said to offer a cost-effective option to inspectional device makers that require high quality images while accessing small or narrow spaces. This innovative industrial inspection solution can be integrated into existing devices, which will offer savings to customers, while its excellent balance of size, price and image quality make it an attractive proposition to companies that have been hitherto limited as a result of price barriers.

A Versatile Range of Products for an Array of Applications

One of the latest products to join the range of micro cameras is the micro ScoutCam 6.5 Lum. As the name suggests, the CMOS camera boasts a 6.5mm diameter, and comes with six integrated LEDS, making it the ideal tool for narrow and dark spaces and an excellent pipe inspection camera. Completely waterproof, in can be used in an array of applications, for example as a tube inspection tool. As with the rest of the micro camera line, the 6.5 Lum can be custom-tailored in terms of field-of-view, best focus distance and depth-of-field. As the micro-endoscopic device expert, Medigus' range of video cameras is unrivalled, including the most sophisticated industrial inspection camera on the market.
